The Cat’s Pyjamas Launch Prize Pack Giveaway

0S7A9011I wanted to say thank you to the readers of my previous blog who have followed me here, my blogging friends, and the brand new readers that are supporting my brand new blog, by giving away a little gift. I chose a range of different products from brands that are close to my heart… But not as close to my heart as you (AW!). (But seriously).

The prize pack includes:

Korres | Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick Trio in Soft Pink, Red & Berry ($35.95AUD)
Korres are a cruelty-free Greek beauty brand. They are one of my favourite beauty brands and their Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipsticks are one of my favourite beauty products (see my review here). They’re water-based and feel super lightweight.

Blue Q | French Lecon Pouch ($8.50AUD)
Blue Q is a US brand that creates a range of products, from purses to chewing gum. All of their bags are made out of 95% recycled post-consumer material. This is an adorable way to brush up on your French vocab.

People Tree | Bead Cluster Earrings ($13.60AUD)
People Tree are a UK fair-trade and certified organic fashion brand. I’m completely fixated on them at the moment and soon I will own one of everything they make, including these sweet pink bead and brass earrings.

Korres Zea Mays Blush in 16 Pink

Korres Zea Mays Blush in Pink

A smooth, velvety blush with corn starch powder particles, for a luminous effect and a smooth and silky finish. Enhance your glow with one of these gorgeous colours in a range of pinks, peaches and roses. Dermatologically tested. Mineral oil free. Propylene glycol free. Ethanolamine free.

I first heard about Korres Zea Mays Blush in 16 Pink ($49.95 AUD) from Clare’s blog and squirrelled away the recommendation in the part of my brain that should probably be storing my own phone number or where on God’s green earth I put my favourite loafers. When I saw some of the Zea Mays Blushes (Hint: ‘zea mays’ is just a fancy way of saying… corn) for sale for much less than Australian retail on a certain grey market website, I bought one… Then went back online the next day and bought another.

As I recently blogged about, Korres is one of my favourite natural beauty brands. Plus, their design aesthetic gives me butterflies in my belly:

Korres Zea Mays Blush in Pink

16 Pink is packaged in a heavy, dark brown plastic compact with a full-size internal mirror. The bottom of the compact is colour-matched to the blush shade:

16 Pink is a neutral, matte medium pink. It looks darker in the pan than it does swatched or on the cheeks. The blush is beautifully pigmented but not overly so. It’s become my go-to blush colour because it just goes with everything, while giving me a soft flush of colour. Although the blush is matte, there’s no powderiness or chalkiness.

Here’s a quick arm swatch:

18 Peach is on its way to me as I write. Fly my pretty, fly!

Korres Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick Trio in Soft Pink, Red & Berry

Korres Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick Trio in Soft Pink, Red & Berry

Cooling, water-based liquid lipstick with the creamy texture of a lip gloss with the long-lasting, vibrant finish of a lipstick. Rich in line-smoothing, antioxidant raspberry & pomegranate extracts to protect against free-radical damage and smooth lip lines for softer, more youthful looking lips. Certified organic acai palm pulp oil moisturizes and soothes the lips creating a long-lasting, creamy texture.

Apparently Greece can’t avoid economic doom, but they can sure make some good organic beauty products. So that’s something, I guess. Cult Greek beauty brand Korres is available in Australia at Mecca Cosmetica, and although you can’t buy the Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick Trio in Soft Pink, Red and Berry there, each of the Liquid Lipsticks are available separately for a concerning $29.95 AUD each… Or you could turn to the welcoming but slightly shifty bosom of the grey market and pay much less.

Korres Liquid Lipsticks are packaged in a lip gloss-style tube with a traditional doe-foot applicator:

I am happy because the Liquid Lipsticks contain certified organic ingredients and Korres are a cruelty-free brand. Also because they all smell like vanilla cake batter. However, Korres market this product as a liquid lipstick, and… I’m sorry. No. These are merely creamy, pigmented lip glosses; don’t get me wrong, they’re excellent lip glosses, but they do not ‘set’ in the way a lipstick does and they are not particularly long-wearing. I can’t quite pick a favourite. Soft Pink is a soft, neutral, medium grey-pink with micro-shimmer. Berry is a vibrant, slightly cool berry pink with a cream finish. Red is a bright, true red with a cream finish. None of the colours lean too warm or cool.

Birthday Wish List

Birthday Wish List

Look, I know I’m not going to wake up to a six-hundred pair of Burberry flats tomorrow morning, but a girl can (self-indulgently) dream, right? I shamelessly stole this idea from the gorgeous Michelle, whose birthday is a day after mine. Clockwise from top left:

1. Zatchels 11.5″ Chestnut Leather Satchel (Approximately $120 AUD)

This is the one item on this list I have some chance of getting for my birthday, primarily because I texted my boyfriend the link to the online store (with instructions) and gave him almost no other gift ideas.

2. Korres Lip Butters in Pomegranate and Quince ($18.95 AUD each)

You can’t buy Korres in Adelaide (except online, of course), and every time I’m near a counter interstate I just blank on them.

3. J.Crew Pearl Stud Earrings ($68.83 AUD)

I suppose that all pearl stud earrings are the same, but if someone was, hypothetically, buying me a very expensive cashmere cardigan from J.Crew, they may as well throw these in the cart. I just want to replace the ones that fell from my bag and I lost while running for a bus… That I missed.

4. Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour in Rose ($13.95 AUD)

I have no idea why I haven’t just bought this yet. It’s $13.95 AUD, for God’s sake. I can be so cheap.

5. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface (Approximately $25 AUD)

Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Tipsy, a bright coral, is one of my favourites, and I like the look of its sweet, pink sister.

6. J.Crew Featherweight Cashmere Cardigan ($245 AUD)

At this point in my life (but who knows about the future), I refuse to spend two hundred and fifty dollars on a cardigan… But if someone else bought it for me, that’d be pretty neat. I love cardigans forever.

7. Zoya Nail Polishes in Jana and Megan ($19 AUD each)

Both gorgeous taupe-greys, one light and one darker.

8. Burberry Leather Moccasin Detail Flats ($625 AUD… LOL)

I know! But… I don’t know. They’re so pretty.

9. UNII Palette (Approximately $25 AUD)

I’d love to depot all my lonely, unloved eyeshadows into one of these so they could at least be unloved together.
